About Sentro

The teaching and promotion of Filipino culture and languages to children and youth is the greatest concern of the Center for Austrian and Filipino Culture and Language Sentro ng Kultura at Wika ng Austria at Pilipinas, or Sentro for short.

Sentro seeks above all the active cooperation of parents and educators, associations, schools, governmental and non-governmental organizations to achieve its goals. The center is a non-profit institution. It was founded in Vienna in 2010 by Arlene D. Castañeda and has been directed by her ever since.

Through Sentro, a number of events have been and are being realized, such as the “Euro-Pinoy Talks”, book presentations and Philippines lectures at the University of Vienna, the festivals “The Filipino Vienna” which took place from 2015 – 2017, Summer Camps and many more.
